Meet Sylwia Winchester, Talent Acquisition Director at NetCentrics
“I’m really passionate about my job. I find the people who defend our country on new frontiers,” says Sylwia Winchester, Director of Talent Acquisition at NetCentrics. Sylwia is the first person you will meet at NetCentrics. “‘Sylwia’ is the Polish spelling of ‘Sylvia’. How to say my name is always a conversation starter,” she says with a smile.
The frontiers Sylwia refers to are emerging technologies. Artificial intelligence and machine learning are just two areas in which NetCentrics hires specialized cybersecurity experts. Sylwia looks for well-rounded people with diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Finding people that meet these requirements is a challenge in a competitive marketplace. “It helps that we have solid benefits and a really strong team culture,” she says.
Journey to NetCentrics
Sylwia graduated from Warsaw Management University with a degree in Human Resources Management. “I love to network and help companies to find best talent,” she says. “There’s nothing stronger than a genuine connection, and I enjoy discovering those on a daily basis.”
Sylwia’s language abilities, observational skills, and outgoing personality excel in corporate recruiting. Her knack for finding the right person for the right job brought her to the attention of upper management at NetCentrics. Suddenly, Sylwia the recruiter was recruited. She joined the NetCentrics team in 2020.
NetCentrics is unique in that it’s twenty-five years old. It has a history but it’s not defined by it. “I thought, ‘Here’s a company that has a legacy but isn’t afraid to transform, to grow.’ I wanted to be part of that change,” she says.
“We’re getting into new markets, and we’re not afraid to tread new ground. I have a cybersecurity recruiting background, and it’s not wasted here. We’re going after heavy cyber opportunities. I’m excited for the future and where we’re going. It’s going to be a fun ride!”
Hiring Now for Government Contract and Private Sector Roles
Sylwia is currently recruiting for 21+ open positions. These include systems engineers, blue and red team cyber engineers, cyber analysts, and software engineers. Most roles require specific certifications, such as DOD 8570, to be compliant with government cybersecurity requirements. For example, most roles require Secret or Top Secret clearances.
